In 1967, soul singer Joe Tex recorded his hit single Skinny Legs And All. At the end of a recording session, Tex composed the novelty song on the spot. His inspiration in writing the song came from an experience he had in Alabama, where he had noticed a man arguing with his wife in public - who had skinny legs. Tex had thought that his advise to the woman would be to "walk on baby", and he would tell her that if that man don't want you someone else will. This was Tex's biggest song until he released I Gotcha in 1972. In the early years of The Jackson Five, Michael Jackson used to sing Skinny Legs And All while he walked through the audience (encouraged by his father) peeking up women's skirts
