In 1993 Wu Tang Clan released their debut album Enter The Wu Tang (36 Chambers), group leader RZA produced the album heavily sampling from martial arts movies and soul classics. On the song Wu Tang Clan Ain't Nuthin' To Fuck With RZA samples from the theme song to the 1960's cartoon Underdog. The cartoon was a saturday morning staple between 1964-1973, it also aired on Nickelodeon from 1992 until the mid-1990's. In 1995 SNL producer Lorne Michael bought the rights to Underdog which he later sold to Golden Books, which was later taken over by Classic Media, which in 2012 was acquired by DreamWorks Animation.

Inspector Gadget was a 1980's multi-nation animation project that was produced in France, Canada, The United States, Taiwan and Japan. The cartoon ran from 1983-1986, and it was the first cartoon series broadcast in stereo. The theme song was famously sampled in 1985 by Doug E Fresh and Slick Rick on their hip-hop classic The Show. It's also been sampled other times such as on Raw Fusion's Rockin' To The PM in 1991.

Rapper Cam'ron has sampled from TV themes on many of his songs. On his debut album Confessions Of Fire in 1998 one of the top singles on the album, the song 357, sampled from the Magnum P.I. theme song. The popular 1980's show's theme music was written by Mike Post, a multi-Grammy winner who wrote themes for many shows including Law & Order, Hill Street Blues and The Rockford Files. Post has also produced several big records such as Dolly Parton's 9 to 5 and Odd Jobs, and Van Halen's Van Halen III. The Who's 2006 album Endless Wire included a song Pete Townshend wrote for Post - Mike Post Theme.

Horse & Carriage was the big single off Cam'ron's 1998 debut album Confessions Of Fire. Horse & Carriage Remix was released after the album dropped, and it featured Big Pun, Charlie Baltimore, Silk Da Shocker and Wyclef Jean. The remix sampled the theme music to the 1980's ABC hit sit-com Night Court. The show's theme music was written by Jack Elliott, who also co-wrote theme's to Charlie's Angel's, Barney Miller and others. Elliott has held many prominent positions including serving as the musical director for the Grammy Award's for 30 consecutive years.

Killary was one of the earliest and one of the most successful Wu Tang affilated hip-hop groups, it's members included RZA's younger brother - 9th Prince. The band produced many records between 1995-1997. Shortly after releasing their debut album in 1997, the groups manager General Wise was shot and killed in their hometown Steubenville, Ohio. The group held it together for about a year but broke up after releasing a second album. The RZA-produced song Wake Up, off their debut album, samples The Lonely Man Theme from The Incredible Hulk in 1972.

Dark Shadows was a gothic soap opera that ran on ABC between 1966-1971. The daytime daily drama featured vampires, werewolves and zombies. The original soundtrack by Robert Cobert made Billboard's Top 20 albums chart and won a Grammy, it is also one of the top selling TV soundtracks of all-time. In 1998 DJ Premier and Guru sampled Dark Shadows opening theme on Militia, off Gang Starr's fifth album Moment Of Truth.

In the early 1980's DJ Bobcat was a heavily involved pioneer of west coast rap. He was also heavily involved with Def Jam on the east coast, and he wrote and produced many of LL Cool J's early hits like I'm Bad and I Need Love. Later LL Cool J invited him into the infamous Def Jam Tour. After returning from the tour Bobcat wrote and produced the very first hip-hop record on Arista Records, Ain't Nothing To It by K 9 Posse - a group formed by comedian Eddie Murphy's younger brother Vernon Lynch. The album was released soon after, the first track on it This Beat Is Military - samples from the 1980's TV series The A-Team.

D.I.T.C. was a hip-hop group from New York whose name tells their passion of seeking out records to sample - Diggin' In The Crates. The groups presence was mainly throughout the 1990's, it's members included Fat Joe, Showbiz & A.G., Diamond D, Lord Finesse, O.C., Buckwild and the late Big L. The only studio album was simply titled D.I.T.C., and it featured the song Champagne Thoughts which samples from the theme to ABC's 1976 drama Police Woman.

Future Thugs was an unofficial single from Redman in 2005 that featured Ghostface Killah and Ludacris. The song samples the theme to the popular 1980's TV drama about the California Highway Patrol - CHiPs. The show ran for six seasons on NBC and showed almost no violence, but there usually was at least one over-the-top pileup on the freeway on each episode. The show's following went along with the Ponch & Jon team, even though the real life CHiPs would almost never work or travel in pairs.

The late rapper Easy-E has been called The Godfather Of Gangster Rap. In 1988 he released his solo debut album - Easy Duz It. The album was produced almost entirely by Dr. Dre and DJ Yella. The intro to the albums title track Easy Duz It is inspired by the Gumby Theme Song. The green clay huminoid character was a spinoff from the Howdy Dowdy Show. The Gumby Show aired on NBC from 1955-1962.
